Rosenborg – Haugesund

Rosenborg gave up the title contention with a desperate three-loss thread and they will be desperate to bring it to an end on Wednesday afternoon when Haugesund come to visit Lerkendal Stadion. The hosts promised a serious battle for the throne with a strong start to the 2021 Eliteserien campaign, but they dropped in form heavily in the last couple of weeks. Rosenborg failed to find the back of the net in the last two games and they will go into this clash off the back of three successive defeats.

Rosenborg have been much more successful historically in this match-up, especially in Trondheim where they’ve won 12 of the last 16 clashes against Haugesund. However, the visitors have been a much tougher opposition for Rosenborg in the last several years as it’s Haugesund who have won three of the last four head to head encounters overall.

Haugesund could even move level on points with Rosenborg at the sky-high 6th place of the Eliteserien standings with a victory here. We believe the visitors could well take advantage of the momentum and pull off an upset at Lerkendal Stadion, especially since they’ve already won three of the last four clashes against Rosenborg.
