Slovenia and Croatia face each other at Stadion Stozice in the 2022 World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night. The hosts missed out on a place at the EURO 2021 finals, and, no doubt, they are eager to make amends for the unsuccessful qualifying campaign.. Josif Ilic is expected to lead the attack of the hosts.
The Croats, on the other hand, reached the 2018 FIFA World Cup final. In the last eight games, they have lost five times. Milan striker Ante Rebic has recovered from his injury and is expected to be in the starting line up. Ivan Rakitic is no longer part of the national team, but Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric will certainly pose a major threat to the home team’s defense.
