Slovakia and Russia face each other at Anton Malatinski Stadium in Trnava in the Group H derby on Tuesday night. Both teams last met in the groups of Euro 2016. Then Russia finished last and lost 1: 2. The previous two matches between them, however, were won by the Russians with 1: 0. The hosts started their qualifying campaign poorly, recording two draws – against Cyprus and Malta. The star of the team Marek Hamsik is likely to miss the match due to injury.
Russia, on the other hand, started in style – they achieved two wins – 3: 1 against Malta and 2: 1 against Slovenia. Artem Dzyuba scored both goals in the last match. Valencia ace Denis Cherishev is injured and is expected to miss the match.
